Former Leeds Rhinos star Kevin Sinfield has revealed he misses playing rugby league on a daily basis following his code switch. The ex-England captain brought the curtain down on his illustrious career in the 13-man game in October after leading Leeds to the treble and is now four months into his new life as rugby union player with Yorkshire Carnegie.Sinfield, whose book on his rugby league career is published on Saturday, had intended to support his old club from the stand once he quit as a player but reveals he has so far attended only one game. I went to the World Club Challenge, which was quite difficult to watch, Sinfield said. Its tough because I miss playing rugby league every single day and I will for the rest of my life, Im sure. Kevin Sinfield enjoyed a glittering career with Leeds Rhinos I played with a number of them for 10 or 15 years and those bonds will never leave you. Its been quite difficult getting the right balance between being there and giving each other a break from it.At times Ive been torn by that but I was delighted to see them win on Friday. I was at home cheering them on.The Rhinos have struggled in the absence of their inspirational former skipper, as well as the retired Jamie Peacock, and were bottom of Super League after three matches. But Leeds have won two of their last three games and Sinfield is confident they will be challenging to retain their trophies. Phil Clarke brings you his top five Super League tries of the week Theyve had a real tough spell but thats been down to injuries and to add to that the training ground was flooded and becoming nomads makes life really difficult, Sinfield said. Also the team is built for summer rugby and the conditions so far arent conducive to that. As the grounds firm up, I have complete confidence that group will flourish, as they started to do on Friday night.Sinfield would like to play for Carnegie at Premiership level, but concedes he is still getting to grips with the 15-man game. Im getting better, Sinfield said of his fly-half role. Im learning.Im still making plenty of mistakes, as you could imagine for somebody who had never played a game in his life. The lads have been really welcoming and Ive really enjoyed the challenge. To have something like this at 35 has been brilliant, its probably opened my eyes a bit.It looks very similar to rugby league but when you start playing its so, so different. Ive played league since I was seven and to suddenly break down some of those instincts and start to find fresh ones is very, very difficult. Its been testing but Im glad I did it.Watch Kevin Sinfield and Yorkshire Carnegie host Bedford on Easter Sunday, live on Sky Sports 3 HD from 3.45pm Also See: Anfield may host Four Nations final WATCH: Phil Clarkes top five tries WATCH: Super League Full Time Burgess released from hospital Blake Bell Jersey . MADRID -- Spain is about to get back in the fight against doping. With political stability finally restored, the country is again in position to become compliant with the World Anti-Doping Agency, nearly eight months after it was suspended because of inadequate doping legislation.Spanish authorities say they have everything in place to approve the law changes that will allow the nation to abide by WADAs revised global anti-doping code.WADA declared Spain non-compliant this year after the country failed to adapt its legislation because it couldnt form a government following two inconclusive elections that prompted a political deadlock which lasted nearly 10 months. The countrys political parties finally reached an agreement to end the stalemate last month, and Wednesday is the first day in which the parliament can start working on new legislation. Officials guarantee that its only a matter of time before the required changes are approved and the nation regains WADA compliance. The countrys top government sports official, Miguel Cardenal, said that the legislation changes are ready and just waiting for approval.Spains anti-doping agency said that the negotiations to have the changes made had already been conducted even before the political impasse was resolved, leaving everything in place for a quick approval by the parliament.(The changes) are important to assure that our athletes are subjected to the same rules as any other athlete in the world, said Enrique Gomez Bastida, director of Spains anti-doping agency. Its fundamental that there are no differences between the rules in which athletes have to follow in their countries and the ones applied by their respective international federation. There has been no timetable set by the government, but the new legislation could come into effect in a matter of weeks. The changes would make a greater number of infractiions punishable, allow for harsher sanctions and extend the statute of limitation for violations.ddddddddddddWADA looks forward to receiving draft legislation from Spain at the earliest opportunity, so that we can check whether it is in line with the code, WADA spokesman Ben Nichols said. Once such legislation is deemed to be in line with the code, it has to be adopted and the independent compliance review committee will then be in a position to re-assess the situation and make a recommendation (regarding code compliance) to the foundation board. Not long after Spain was declared non-compliant in March, WADA also suspended the accreditation of the Madrid drug-testing lab, dealing another blow to the country which has long been under scrutiny because of doping.Earlier this year, a Spanish court ruled that blood bags that were key evidence in Operation Puerto, one of the nations worst doping scandals, had to be handed over to authorities for investigation, a major win 10 years after the revelation about the doping network involving some of the worlds top cyclists.Several athletes, including Rafael Nadal, had been criticizing the delay to hand over the bags, saying the lack of closure on the case further damaged the countrys image in the fight against doping. The president of the Spanish Olympic Committee, Alejandro Blanco, criticized local officials earlier this year for not being able to approve the necessary changes needed for Spain to comply with WADAs revised code. He said other countries also endured political problems but were able to make the changes and become compliant.WADAs anti-doping code was revised in 2015 to give the agency more power in the fight against doping.---Tales Azzoni on Twitter: http://twitter.com/tazzoni ' ' '
