NEW YORK -- At first glance, the new jersey just looks plain strange. The different colors and team names probably even cause a few double-takes.When NFL players switch from teams with which they had long been associated to new destinations, either through trades or free agency, it often takes a little getting used to for fans and sometimes the players themselves. Some, however, completely embrace the wardrobe makeover.I look good in red and blue, said a smiling Damon Harrison, the New York Giants nose tackle who spent his first four NFL season in the Jets green and white.Heres a look at some other familiar faces in new places -- and colors:---RYAN CLADY, LT, JETSThe four-time Pro Bowl selection was a fixture on Denvers offensive line, but injuries limited him to just 30 games over the last three seasons. When the Broncos signed former Seattle left tackle Russell Okung in March, Clady became expendable. Denver traded him to the Jets, who were in need of a left tackle after the durable DBrickashaw Ferguson suddenly retired in April. Clady, who has recovered from the torn knee ligament that kept him out all last season, will be in charge of protecting Ryan Fitzpatricks blind side. Career stats: 98 games played, 98 starts.---MATT FORTE, RB, JETSA workhorse for eight years in Chicago, the 30-year-old running back was signed by the Jets to add a versatile element to New Yorks backfield. He dealt with a hamstring injury through the first half of training camp, but played in the Jets third preseason game and should be ready to start in Week 1. Career stats: 8,602 yards rushing, 45 TDs; 487 catches, 4,116 yards, 19 TDs.---ARIAN FOSTER, RB, DOLPHINSRetirement appeared to be an option for Foster, who has missed significant parts of two of the last three seasons with major injuries. He played seven seasons for Houston, where he set franchise marks for yards rushing and TD runs, but was released in March. Foster signed a one-year deal with Miami, where he could complement Jay Ajayi. Career stats: 6,472 yards rushing, 54 TDs; 249 catches, 2,268 yards, 14 TDs.---ROBERT GRIFFIN III, QB, BROWNSThe No. 2 overall pick in the 2012 draft got his career with Washington off to an eye-popping start that was capped by a playoff appearance and being selected Offensive Rookie of the Year. Injuries and inconsistency marked the rest of his tenure, eventually losing his starting job to Kirk Cousins. After being cut in March by the Redskins, Griffin will try to resurrect his career in quarterback-starved Cleveland. Career stats: 8,097 yards passing, 40 TDs, 23 INTs; 1,480 yards rushing, 8 TDs.---CHRIS IVORY, RB, JAGUARSAfter being buried on New Orleans depth chart his first three seasons, Ivory was traded to the Jets in 2013 and became one of the AFCs top backs. Known for his bruising running style and his braids flying out from under the back of his helmet, Ivory became a fan favorite and set a career best with 1,070 yards rushing last season. New York allowed him to become a free agent and Ivory will team with T.J. Yeldon to form one of the leagues top running back duos. Career stats: 4,031 yards rushing, 24 TDs; 53 catches, 382 yards, 2 TDs.---MALIK JACKSON, DL, JAGUARSA key player on Denvers Super Bowl-winning defense, Jackson was in high demand in free agency this offseason after five sacks, a safety and seven passes defensed last season. He signed a six-year, $90 million deal with Jacksonville, making him one of the NFLs highest-paid defensive linemen. Career stats: 134 total tackles, 14 sacks, 15 passes defensed, 2 forced fumbles.---LAMAR MILLER, RB, TEXANSAfter a successful four-year run in Miami that included nearly 2,000 yards rushing and 16 touchdowns the last two seasons, Miller signed with Houston for four years in March. The 25-year-old running back showed good versatility while with the Dolphins and is expected to carry much of the workload in the Texans backfield. Career stats: 2,930 yards, 19 TDs; 117 catches, 887 yards, 3 TDs.---DeMARCO MURRAY, RB, TITANSMurray went from being the NFLs rushing leader in 2014 with Dallas to becoming a frustrated and sometimes-forgotten part of Philadelphias backfield under Chip Kelly last season. The two-time Pro Bowl selection had just one 100-yard game with the Eagles, who traded him to Tennessee in March. Hell try to revive his career while teaming with rookie Derrick Henry in the Titans powerful backfield. Career stats: 5,228 yards, 34 TDs; 215 catches, 1,522 yards, 2 TDs.---JOSH NORMAN, CB, REDSKINSThe chatty, opinionated and extremely talented cornerback is coming off a career breakthrough with Carolina that was capped by a Super Bowl appearance, his first Pro Bowl selection and included an on-field back-and-forth with the Giants Odell Beckham Jr. during a game. The Panthers placed the franchise tag on him in the offseason, but then rescinded it when they couldnt come to a long-term agreement. He became an unrestricted free agent and signed a five-year, $75 million deal with Washington. Career stats: 7 INTs (2 for TDs), 181 total tackles, 37 passes defensed, 4 forced fumbles.---OLIVIER VERNON, DE, GIANTSVernon has never made a Pro Bowl, but he established himself as a promising pass rusher in four seasons with Miami, and he parlayed that into an eye-popping five-year, $85 million contract, the richest for a defensive end in NFL history at that time. Hell be expected to provide a big boost to a pass rush that has no one returning with more than two sacks last season. Career stats: 29 sacks, 196 total tackles, 3 forced fumbles.---ERIC WEDDLE, S, RAVENSThe three-time Pro Bowl pick and two-time first-team All-Pro was known for his bushy beard and ballhawking skills in nine seasons with San Diego. He was the glue of the Chargers defense and led them in tackles five times, but friction between Weddle and the team led to a bitter divorce -- and the 31-year-old safety signing a four-year deal with Baltimore. Career stats: 19 INTs (3 TDs), 850 total tackles, 6 1/2 sacks, 71 passes defensed, 5 forced fumbles.---AP NFL website: www.pro32.ap.org and www.twitter.com/AP-NFLMecole Hardman Super Bowl Jersey . Smiths in-game hug with a Milwaukee Bucks bench player -- leading to a wide-open score for the opposition -- an embarrassing moment and met with the Cavs guard to address the mental lapse Wednesday. It was an embarrassing moment, Lue said. Me and J.R. talked about it. Were just going to move forward. We had a discussion about it, he felt embarrassed about it. It was an embarrassing play. We talked about it. Were moving on.Smith greeted Bucks reserve Jason Terry on the baseline while Milwaukee was readying to inbound the ball late in the second half of their eventual 118-101 win over Cleveland on Tuesday. When Smith removed himself from the play, Milwaukees Matthew Dellavedova zipped a pass to Tony Snell who converted an uncontested dunk.Lue was sure to clarify he believed there was nothing intentional behind Smiths blunder, adding there was no negative motive for Smith to expose the Cavs defense like that.Smith said the Cavs also addressed the mistake as a team within the larger context of complacency settling in for the defending champs despite their sterling 13-3 record.Obviously we both know it wasnt intentional, but it was just a lack of focus, Smith said after practice Wednesday. One of the multiple things that compounded onto the loss was just as a team we havent been as focused as we previously were. Winning and being who we are has a lot to do with that, but weve just got to overcome that and be better as a whole. It starts as individuals and then we can collectively become a group and team and have that mindset.Lue also took issue with Smiths explanation for the play Tuesday night, claiming he had no recollection of the mistake while wearing a ski mask-style hood covering his face during his interview with reporters. It wasnt right, Lue said. I talked to him about that also. Theres no need for that. Just address the media in the right way, move on. We got our butts kicked (Tuesday) night. Give Milwaukee credit, they came out, they attacked us, they beat us. Now weve got to move on.Smith said his postgame act was a joke gone wrong.I said it more in a joking manner because you can see what happened, Smith said. Obviously, I wasnt paying attention. For me to just sit there and tell you I wasnt paying attention makes it plain and boring somewhat, especially when youre asking a question you already know the answer to. But at the same time, I still have to give that boring answer, for whatever reason.Making matters worse, Smith is mired in terrible shooting slump, averaging just 3.0 points in his last three games while shooting a combined 3-for-29 (10.3 percennt).ddddddddddddIve had mental errors before while not shooting the ball well and while shooting the ball well, and vice versa, Smith said. So I cant compound one on top of the other. Its just a matter of getting out of the groove of shooting bad and just staying more locked in.This is the first ... mental error that Ive had since I was here (in Cleveland). I mean, I think thats just one of the reasons why its so big because it hasnt been seen yet here. And on top of not shooting the ball well. I mean, Ive gone on streaks where I havent shot the ball well here, but I was always making up for it in other areas so it wasnt as big. Its just a part of the game. I got to do better with it.Outside of a two-game suspension during the 2015 playoffs for a hit on Bostons Jae Crowder, Smith has been mostly a model teammate since the Cavs acquired him from the New York Knicks in a trade during the 2014-15 season.?He led the Cavs in 3-pointers each of the last two seasons, was dubbed the teams best defender by Lue and earned a four-year, $57 million extension from Cleveland in the offseason.Smith said Lue wants to rely on him and other role players to shoulder more of the load and take the pressure off the Cavs superstar trio in LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love to produce. For me, it was just trying to get a better understanding of why weve become complacent, Smith said of his conversation with his coach. Weve both come up with winning has a lot to do with that. Being who we are and having the players we have on the team has a lot to do with that, but weve got to understand for guys like myself, we cant be the Bron-Kevin-Ky who can have that mindset. We have to be those guys -- the worker ants. We have to put that work in even more and have their back even more and have their back even more. I think the last couple games ... I mean, obviously theyre going to score the majority of our points, but theyve done even more than what theyre accustomed to. So we have to do a better job of helping them out from a playing side as well as a serious side as well.Lue was in a noticeably better mood Wednesday than he was Tuesday, beginning his media session by greeting every reporter individually and apologizing for using a curse word during his postgame remarks in Milwaukee.Today was great, Lue said of practice. Today was great. I thought the guys were really locked in.Cleveland hosts the?LA Clippers?on Thursday before heading to Chicago for the second night of a back-to-back on Friday against?Dwyane Wade and the?Bulls. ' ' '
