DETROIT -- Ian Kinsler broke out of a slump and helped the Detroit Tigers win Tuesday night. At the end of the game, though, everyone was paying attention to JaCoby Jones.Jones had two hits and two RBI in his major league debut, including a sixth-inning double to give the Tigers a 4-3 lead. This is simply amazing, Jones said. I dont know any other words to describe this. Just amazing.Jones found out Monday night that he was being called up as the Tigers juggled their roster before the 40-man expansion on Thursday. He had time to call his parents and get them to Comerica Park in time for the game. They watched from behind the plate as he added an RBI single in the seventh.Thats the biggest thing -- having them here to see it after all the years they put up with my baseball schedule, he said.Kinsler came into the game hitting .085 (4 for 47) in his last 13 games, but he hit a two-run homer in the fifth and added a two-run single in Detroits four-run sixth inning. He didnt mind the spotlight shining on Jones. To have your first hit be a big one, with your family here, thats very cool to see, he said of his rookie teammate. He even got the post-game interview and the ice-bucket shower. Thats a great night for him.Todd Frazier homered for Chicago.Bruce Rondon (5-2) picked up the win in relief of Daniel Norris, who allowed three runs in five innings.Matt Albers (2-6) took the loss, allowing three runs in the sixth after relieving Anthony Ranaudo.Chicago went ahead with three runs in the second. Frazier provided the first two with his 33rd homer, but Norris couldnt stop the rally there. Omar Narvaez walked, took third on Tyler Saladinos double and scored on Adam Eatons groundout. The White Sox loaded the bases with two outs in the fourth, but Norris was able to induce an inning-ending groundout from Tim Anderson.Thats really been our Achilles heel all season, Chicago manager Robin Ventura said. We get a lead, and we give ourselves a chance to add to it, and we dont take it.That proved important when Kinsler drove a hanging curveball deep into the stands in left field to make it 3-2 in the fifth.Ranaudo returned for the sixth, but was yanked after allowing a leadoff double to J.D. Martinez. Justin Upton greeted Albers with a tying single to center, and Jarrod Saltalamacchia walked. Jones slapped a double down the right-field line for his first hit and first RBI.Kinsler followed with a two-run single to give Detroit a 6-3 lead. Chicago got a run back in the seventh on Melky Cabreras groundout, but Shane Greene struck out Jose Abreu and Justin Morneau with a runner on third.Thats what makes Detroit so good, Eaton said. You saw it yesterday and today. When they get started offensively, they keep going. When they have a chance to get more runs, they come up with a big hit. We havent done that all year.J.D. Martinez restored Detroits three-run lead with a solo home in the seventh, his third extra-base hit of the game. Jones made it 8-4 late in the inning with a single through a drawn-in infield.TRAINERS ROOMWhite Sox: RHP Miguel Gonzalez (groin) is expected to start a rehab assignment this week, while INF Brett Lawrie continues his with Double-A Birmingham. . Jones, acquired from Pittsburgh for Joakim Soria at last years trading deadline, can play both third base and center, allowing him to fill in for both Maybin and Nick Castellanos (hand). Jones started at third Tuesday.ROSTER SHUFFLEThe Tigers demoted starter Matt Boyd to Triple-A Toledo before the game and recalled reliever Blaine Hardy. With Boyd only lasting four innings in Mondays start, Hardy will provide bullpen depth. Boyd will return when the rosters expand on Thursday and keep his spot in the rotation.BIG BOMBERSTuesdays starting pitchers -- Norris and Ranaudo -- are the only American League pitchers to hit homers at Wrigley Field. Australias top stars insist Michael Cheika will reserve all his fury for his misfiring Wallabies -- not England boss Eddie Jones.Wallabies head coach Cheika has traded a clutch of verbal volleys with England counterpart Jones in the build-up to Saturdays Twickenham Test clash.Ex-Australia coach Jones lit the fuse by claiming Australia scrummage illegally, before Cheika struck back, asserting his old Randwick teammate has tarnished his reputation in his homeland.Taskmaster Australia boss Cheika has been tipped to focus on living up to his hardman reputation with his squad this week however, rather than waste time being wound up by Jones media tactics.Well you havent seen anything, if you reckon Cheiks fired up in a media conference, said Wallabies lock Rob Simmons, of Cheikas famous no-nonsense coaching approach.I havent really noticed any difference in his mood, because he gets stuck into us forwards every day.Australia botched a host of chances in Saturdays 27-24 defeat to Ireland in Dublin -- and fly-half Bernard Foley admitted those errors have left Cheika fuming, not Jones media volleys.I think Cheiks pretty fired up in every meeting we have with him, so theres not much change there, said Foley.Hes far more disappointed over the loss on the weekend. We watched the review yesterday and it wasnt that pretty. We left a lot of opportunities out there and left a lot of chances that we just didnt take. And that was the disappointing thing. It took us 35 minutes to get into the game. Against a quality side like Ireland you cant afford to do that.We created a lot of opportunnities and we didnt start playing footy until half an hour in, or that second half.dddddddddddd.So thats something weve addressed and have to be better at.When this sides playing good footy we match it with anyone in the world. But we have to do that for the full 80 minutes rather than just one half of rugby; thats not enough at this level. Its such a big occasion playing England at Twickenham, they are going really well, and its a great challenge for us. So thats where the excitement comes from.Playmaker Foley masterminded Australias 33-13 thumping of England that dumped the hosts out of the World Cup at Twickenham in 2015.Now the 27-year-old will be desperate to inflict yet more pain on England, especially after new boss Jones led his side to a three-nil Test series win in Australia in June. While Foley has rejected the idea of revenge for the Wallabies June humbling down under, he believes Cheikas side have matured since the summer series.A lot of guys were on debut or in Test footy for the first set-up back in June, said Foley, in a year where Australia have handed out 13 debuts. So just as a squad being able to gel real combinations, and just spend time together, thats been massive for us.This years been very character-building for this side, and I think thats shown.I think guys will walk away from this year having learnt a lot and will be far better in the future because of it.Weve matured a lot and now need to reap the benefits of that.
