Move over Ezekiel Elliott, Jay Ajayi is the NFLs best running back.Ajayi tied a league record by surpassing 200 yards rushing for the second straight game, helping the Miami Dolphins win two in a row.Ajayi ran for 214 yards in a win over Buffalo after totaling 204 yards a week earlier against Pittsburgh. He joins O.J. Simpson, Earl Campbell and Ricky Williams as the only players to have consecutive 200-yard games. Now, the former fifth-round pick has to wait an extra week to break the record because Miami (3-4) has a bye.Elliott leads the league in rushing, helping Dallas (5-1) to first place in the NFC East. But the rookie hasnt even had a 150-yard game yet.Surely, hes no Ajayi.By the way, Ajayi had 304 career rushing yards before his outburst. He also did it against two of the leagues bottom-12 defenses against the run. Lets see how he does against the Jets on Nov. 6. New York is the fourth-ranked run defense in the league. Here are other overreactions following Week 7:OVERREACTION: The Vikings are the 2015 Falcons, who started 5-0 and finished 8-8.REALISTIC REACTION: Minnesota wasnt going 16-0. Coach Mike Tomlin said Monday that the 23-year-old Adams understands how lucky he is that he was not more seriously hurt during the incident on the citys South Side. "Obviously, its an unfortunate situation, but hes very blessed to be in the position that hes in," Tomlin said. Adams told officers he was standing near his truck shortly after 3 a.m. when he was confronted by three men, one armed with a knife and one armed with a handgun. Adams told police the trio tried to carjack him, but he didnt have his car keys. He said "the situation escalated" and one man pointed the gun at his face while the other stabbed him twice before all three fled, according to police. Adams went into a nearby restaurant to seek help and was later taken to UPMC Mercy, where he had surgery for stab wounds to the abdomen and left forearm. He is expected to be released by Tuesday afternoon. Police said Monday that 25-year-old Michael Paranay of Pittsburgh was arrested and taken to Allegheny County jail on charges of criminal attempted homicide, aggravated assault, attempted robbery and conspiracy. A listed number for him could not be found and it was unclear whether he had an attorney. Tomlin visited Adams following the attackk and said the teams second-round pick in the 2012 NFL Draft out of Ohio State is in good spirits.dddddddddddd "We recognize the world that we live in, and things like this are capable of happening," Tomlin said. "Not that we accept it, but we understand that its capable of happening." Adams is expected to be the teams starting right tackle but will be prevented from participating in football activities for several weeks. The Steelers are in the midst of organized team activities and open training camp in late July. Barring a setback, Tomlin anticipates Adams to be ready when camp begins, though football wasnt at the forefront of Tomlins concern. The coach also cautioned about the potential issues that can arise in the citys popular bar district. "We need to recognize that some things are going on that are on the South Side that make it a dangerous place, particularly after hours, and we all need to take proper precautions," Tomlin said. "And, hopefully, as a community, well take the steps necessary to assure that this doesnt to anyone, whether its a Pittsburgh Steeler or no." Adams has been active on his Twitter feed during his hospital stay, responding to well wishes, including a note from Ohio State quarterback Braxton Miller. "You cant beat a buckeye," Adams tweeted after Miller tweeted that Adams was "all good." ' ' '
