NEW YORK -- Mets slugger Yoenis Cespedes has been put on the 15-day disabled list because of a sore right quadriceps, and a feisty manager Terry Collins has teed off on those wondering whether the outfielder aggravated his injury playing golf.Cespedes hurt his leg July 8, and the injury has been nagging him since. On Wednesday, former big leaguer Kevin Millar tweeted a photo of himself playing golf with Cespedes earlier in the day. Asked about that image before Thursday nights Subway Series game at Yankee Stadium, Collins raised his voice.Golfing had nothing to do with his leg, Collins said three hours before gametime. I dont care about perception. I deal with reality. The Mets recalled outfielder Brandon Nimmo from Triple-A Las Vegas to fill Cespedes roster spot. Cespedes went 1 for 5 in Wednesday nights 9-5 loss to the Yankees and is hitting .292 with 22 homers and 59 RBI.Doctors have told us it probably had no impact on the injury positive or negative but, lets face it, play golf during the day and then go out injured in the evening, its a bad visual, and I think he recognizes that it at this point, Mets general manager Sandy Alderson said. For now, Alderson suggested Cespedes will put his clubs aside.Ive had conversations with his people, but not directly with Yoenis, Alderson said. But that message will get to him at least circuitously and probably directly.Collins says he doesnt know when Cespedes might be able to play again. Collins said the team wanted to let the injury quiet down before resuming baseball activities. In retrospect its probable that we should have just put him on the DL at the beginning of this episode, Alderson said. Hopefully at the end of two weeks hell be back and hopefully 100 percent or close to it. John Lynch Jersey . -- Team after team passed on Andre Ellington in the draft. Houston (5-1) did not trail by fewer than nine points the rest of the way.Blakeney scored 14 points, hitting a season-high 10 field goals, and grabbed five of his eight rebounds in the second half.In the second half, we did a great job executing offensively, LSU coach Johnny Jones said. But, the difference in the game was on the backboards, where the Tigers outrebounded the Cougars 46-28. LSU turned 20 offensive rebounds into 23 second-chance points.Winning the war on the boards and getting second-chance points was a focus, Blakeney said. Thats why coach (Jones) started sending me to the glass.Craig (Victor) and all the bigs were trying to get rebounds because we got beat on the boards in the Bahamas. We were just trying to correct our mistakes.Three LSU players besides Blakeney scored in double figures. Brandon Sampson had 16 points, all but two in the first half. Victor had 13 points and nine rebounds in his first start of the year. Aaron Epps, who was replaced by Victor in the lineup, had 11 points and seven rebounds.Rob Gray was the top scorer for Houston with 19 points.
