INCHEON, South Korea -- Australias Cameron Davis shot a 7-under 65 on Thursday to take the first-round lead in the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship, with the winner Sunday getting a spot in the Masters next year at Augusta National. The 21-year-old Davis, second behind Chinas Jin Cheng last year in the rain-shortened tournament in Hong Kong, had eight birdies and a bogey at Jack Nicklaus Golf Club. Two weeks ago in Mexico, Davis led Australia to the World Amateur Team Championship and won the individual title. It was nice to play some really good golf and keep some form going, Davis said. I was just trying to enjoy the round, the scenery and the golf course because the more pressure you put on yourself in an event like this, the harder it is to perform and concentrate.Davis birdied four of the first six holes in the round that started on No. 10, bogeyed the par-4 second and had four straight birdies on Nos. 5-8. He birdied three of the four par 3s.Conditions were good, Davis said. There wasnt too much breeze, not more than a club and a half of wind out there so off the tee that doesnt hurt too much at all. The greens were still quite soft so the ball was stopping pretty quickly. It wasnt too difficult out there, but I still had to hit some really good shots.Australias Brett Coletta and Japans Yuwa Kosaihira were two strokes back at 67 in the event conducted by the Asia Pacific Golf Confederation, the Masters Tournament and The R&A.I used the wind to my advantage to give me some good positions on my tee-shots, Kosaihira said. I like these conditions.Thailands K.K. Limbhasut and Japans Junya Kameshiro shot 68, and New Zealands Nicholas Coxon had a 69.Limbhasut is taking off the University of Californias season to prepare to apply to the business school. He played alongside Davis and Jin.Cam was impressive to watch, Limbhasut said. He struck the ball really well today and made a lot of good putts -- 10-footers, 15-footers. It was awesome golf by him today.Limbhasut made a 20-foot eagle putt on the par-5 18th, his ninth hole of the day.I got off to a pretty rough start, Limbhasut said. I hit a pretty bad drive on my first hole but somehow got par and then hit a good par putt on two. Im not a long-hitter like Cameron Davis and I thought the first three holes were playing pretty hard. I tried to stay patient and the eagle on my ninth was pretty nice.Curtis Luck, the Australian who wrapped up a Masters invitation with his U.S. Amateur victory, opened with a 70. He was second last week in Mexico.Jin had a 72. Hes a freshman at the University of Southern California,Chinas Guan Tianlang, the 2012 winner in Thailand at age 14, had three straight double bogeys in a 82. Now 17, he dropped nine strokes in a six-hole stretch in the middle of the round. He had three birdies and seven bogeys. The winner also will get a spot in the British Amateur and a place in final stage of British Open qualifying. Also Thursday, tournament organizers said the 2018 event will be played at Sentosa Golf Club in Singapore. The 2017 event will be played at Royal Wellington in New Zealand.Don Mattingly Yankees Jersey . They sang Rocky Top near the end of the vigil.I have a feeling that right now shes making angels do laps, said Nora Lou Wilson of Knoxville. The dozens of floral arrangements that were at the foot of Summitts statue Tuesday night had doubled in size by the start of Wednesdays vigil. An orange scarf had been placed around her neck. Signs on the concrete wall behind the statue featured hundreds of signatures. A wood carving of the state of Tennessee stood behind the statue and included the message, Now go lead your team in heaven.Alicia Manning, who played for the Tennessee womens basketball team from 2008-12 and was part of Summitts last team, said she expected the floral arrangements to continue increasing up until the July 14 ceremony at Thompson-Boling Arena celebrating the coachs life. From now until then its going to keep getting bigger, Manning said. Obviously by then its going to be insane, which it should be. She deserves that. The most emotional story at the vigil came from Becky Evans of Knoxville, who described an encounter her family had with Summitt while her father -- an avid Tennessee fan -- was undergoing quadruple-bypass surgery. Summitt, who was in the hospital because of an injured player, overheard Evanss and her mom talking about how much their father would love to meet the coach.dddddddddddd.Evans said Summitt stayed with her and her mom for three hours. When Evans father was out of surgery, Summitt went into his hospital room, spent half an hour visiting him and later thanked him for being a Tennessee fan.I just came tonight to honor a great lady of character, Evans said as she looked back at the statue. (I was) 17 years old and scared that your dad was going to die and not knowing, and all alone. This lady took it upon herself to care for two East Tennessee girls and share her love. I just wanted to honor her tonight and tell her, `Thank you, Pat. Thank you for caring about us, and thank you for caring about my dad. Some fans used the vigil as an opportunity to promote bringing back the Lady Volunteers nickname for all Tennessee sports and collect signatures to petition that cause. Some speakers campaigned for that while giving their testimonials. In a move that took effect in July 2015, all Tennessee womens sports teams other than the basketball squad started being called the Volunteers rather than the Lady Vols.School officials said the basketball team could continue calling itself the Lady Vols because of the championship legacy established by Summitt.School officials announced in February that the other womens sports teams would wear a commemorative patch on their uniform in 2016-17 to honor the Lady Vols legacy, a move that came after legislators introduced a bill that would have required Tennessee to call all its womens sports teams the Lady Vols. The legislative measure was then withdrawn from consideration.Cheap Jerseys [url=h call all its womens sports teams the Las[/url] Wholesale Baseball Jerseys ' ' '
