RICHMOND, Va. -- Ryan Newman, who once drove for Tony Stewart, was mad at his former boss after a crash with 37 laps left in the Sprint Cup race Saturday night at Richmond International Raceway.Newman said he bumped into Stewart a little bit after Stewart cut him off and, according to Newman, intentionally drove across the nose of his car.I dont think there was any reason other than him just being bipolar and having anger issues, Newman said. Google Tony Stewart. Youll see all kinds of things hes done. Look it up on YouTube.Stewart is in his final Sprint Cup season before hoping to return to sprint car racing, in which he will pick and choose the races he will enter.Newman, who was having a frustrating day and not appearing to be able to make up the 22 points he needed on Jamie McMurray to make the Chase for the Sprint Cup, took a shot at Stewart, who was involved in a tragedy in August 2014, when he struck and killed Kevin Ward Jr. in a sprint car race. Stewart was not criminally charged but faces a wrongful death lawsuit.Stewart claims he never saw Ward until the last moment. Ward had approached Stewarts car on foot, and Stewart claims that Ward tried to grab his car while under the influence of marijuana.I guess he thought he was in a sprint car again -- didnt want to control his anger, Newman said. Well keep fighting like we always do. Its unfortunate. Not the end we wanted.[Its] just disappointing that you have somebody old like that that should be retired the way he drives. Its just ridiculous.Newman drove for Stewart-Haas Racing from 2009-13.?Hes got issues, and we all know hes got issues, Newman said in reference to Stewart. He proved it again tonight. I was clearly inside of him getting into Turn 1, he cut across my nose, I was on the brakes, on the apron and I hit him coming off of Turn 2 but only because I got loose [and] I was on the apron. The next thing I know, he is driving across my nose on the back straightaway because hes Tony Stewart. He thinks he owns everything. Its unfortunate. But we shouldnt expect anything less from him.Stewart said Newman had run across his nose early in the race and then twice again before Stewart admitted he cut across Newman but obviously didnt want to wreck himself. How many times does he get to run into you before you say, Youve had enough? Stewart said.As far as the harsh comments, Stewart said Newman was in a pressure-filled situation. Its a stressful night for him, Stewart said. He was trying to make the Chase. Its a stressful moment. Hes going to say whatever hes going to say.The two drivers had been friends.Id say by that, he probably doesnt want to be friends right now, Stewart said. Its up to him.Harry Carson Jersey . Andrew Cuomo agreed in April to end the two-decade old ban following years of failed efforts by MMA supporters. The law authorizing the sport took effect in September. Cuomo cconcluded the move would boost the economy by luring bouts to the nations largest city as well as upstate venues, with one estimate that MMA could generate $137 million in annual economic activity.ddddddddddddIn response to critics concerned about the sports violence, lawmakers added provisions that raise the insurance required to $50,000 for fighter injuries, a $50,000 death benefit and $1 million for life-threatening brain injuries. The law was also intended to regulate existing amateur mixed martial arts events. KTFO Fights, a Long Island-based promoter, held the first MMA event under the new law, according to KTFO President Nic Canobbio. He said that while UFC and other big promoters might be able to absorb the higher insurance requirements, many smaller promoters cannot. Its a huge expense for promoters like us, and that prevents guys just starting their career from being able to fight in New York, he said. He would like lawmakers to consider tweaking the law to reduce costs on smaller operators.Still, he said, ending the states long ban on professional MMA has been a great win for the sport.New York has some of the best fighters, the best gyms in the country or maybe even the world, he said.
