TAMPA, Fla. -- Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Josh Huff was expected to appear at a case screening today in Camden County, New Jersey, but due to mitigating circumstances -- his sudden job change and move to Tampa -- he was not present. Instead, he was represented by his attorney Andrew Smith.I formally entered his attorney appearance in the case and spoke to the prosecutors office, explaining Joshs recent move to Florida for employment reasons, Smith told ESPN. Consequently, Joshs appearance at the case screening today became unnecessary in light of those circumstances.Smith told ESPN that Huffs missed court appearance did not violate the conditions of his bail.On Nov. 1, as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles, Huff, 25, was pulled over for speeding on the New Jersey side of the Walt Whitman Bridge. Huff had an unloaded 9 mm handgun in his possession. When police began to question him about the weapon, they detected an odor of marijuana. He was arrested and charged with DUI, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a small amount of marijuana.Huff was released by the Eagles on Nov. 3 and was signed to the Buccaneers practice squad on Nov. 7. Head coach Dirk Koetter said the team currently views him as a developmental player in its system. Were excited to have him, Koetter said when the team first signed him. He understands where hes at, the mistakes hes made and I think hes looking for a start and hes got to hold up his end of the bargain to give himself an opportunity.Huff said hes eager for a fresh new start.Obviously Im mad that I put myself in that situation, but you live and you learn, Huff said. Im excited to be here. Im excited to get going and get used to my new teammates and new players around me and get used to the staff. Reggie Miller Pacers Jersey .
