Bodybuilder Cheyann Clark began her Instagram account a few years ago hoping to inspire others to work out. But after being diagnosed with ovarian cancer in August, her focus has understandably shifted and her posts have since chronicled her brave battle with the disease.As you might imagine, its even more inspiring than her previous mission. Left- Before we knew I had cancer. I was a solid 130lbs and 15% body fat. Also had a nice little booty growing back there. - - Right- Taken yesterday. Stage 4 Low Grade Serous Ovarian Cancer. After almost 14 days in the hospital, a poop bag, and a major surgery; I stand at 105lbs. Thats way to small for me. Im 55. I lost everything. Cancer has taken so much from me. The body I worked so hard for 2 years to get, the ability to have and carry my own child, my hair, and so much more, but one thing for sure is that cancer has not taken my fight and faith. - - I will never stop fighting. I will never lose my faith. I will never let cancer win. Today has been a rough day for me mentally, but thats okay. I know tomorrow will be much better and Im thankful to be alive and to see another day. I know GOD is up there working and I know he will give me the strength to fight, the light to see in the darkness, and will lay his healing hands on me. - - This is the toughest battle I have and will ever face, but I know I can do it. The hardest part of all this is my body change. I have a hard time looking at myself in the mirror but Im learning to love myself again and I know this is only temporary. With surgery in 12 days, Ill be out from working out probably around 6 weeks. So Ill be starting at square one again but thats okay. I spent about 7 days in the hospital and am excited to be home. - - Two days after surgery I was able to get up and walk about 16 laps around the ICU floor. This is a huge step for me or anyone who had a major surgery. - - Here is the update: surgery was 5.5 hours. I did have to get a blood transfusion because I did lose a lot of blood. They got all the cancer they could see out, took my spleen, appendix, full hysterectomy, and part of my colon out. I am not cancer free however. There is cancer is a couple lymph nodes. This doesnt mean I am going to die, it just means I have to fight a lot harder. Scared is an understatement, but I know GOD is with me and I will be fine. - - I have probably over 100 staples going up my abdomen and do have to have a poop bag for 3 months ???? (it farts on its own too lol) - - Some people may see the cancer being in my lymph nodes a step backwards, but I just see it as just another bump in the road. I will never question GOD because I know he is at work to heal me and the devil will try whatever he can to get me to turn my back on the Lord; which will never happen.
