The Matt Laurie-trained Electric Tribute has upset odds-on favourite Galaxy Raider , courtesy of a well-judged front-running ride by Dwayne Dunn at Flemington.Electric Tribute ($10) went into Saturdays Cafe Adamo Handicap (1600m) after a last-start win at Kilmore over 1450m and Dunn was able to control the race from the front and get away with cheap early sectionals.Galaxy Raider, the $1.60 favourite, was third on the fence until straightening and once he got into the clear inside the 300m and wound up he wasnt able to bridge the gap to Electric Tribute who ran the mile out strongly to win by a short neck.Dwayne looked to get away with a bit of murder there, and the horse travelled really strong and gave a really good kick, Laurie said.I was a little bit concerned about the mile today because he just travelled so strong the other day at Kilmore and I just thought that maybe he might work too hard. But he just rated it beautifully.Electric Tribute is a younger half-brother to the Laurie-trained Master Reset who has won eight of his 22 starts while Electric Tribute has taken his record to four wins from 18 starts.Electric Tribute began his career in NSW with David Pfieffer before joining Lauries team early this year.Weve always liked him, Laurie said. When he was sent down there was a bit of a rap on him. He just sort of lost his way but hes certainly found it in his last two starts.Pirelli have revealed the F1 drivers first selections under the new-for-2016 tyre rules - but there will be little variety among the leading cars in Melbourne. In a bid to spice up race strategies from next weeks season-opening Australian GP, Pirelli are bringing three tyre types to every race weekend and allowing teams to select 10 of the 13 compounds for each of their cars. The selections for Melbourne have now been published but, despite expectations that the early races in particular would produce divergent tactics, most teams have opted for a similar split of tyres from the medium, soft and supersoft compounds on offer at Albert Park. However, in one of only three differences between team-mates, Mercedes pair Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg have opted for slightly different selections.Although they will each have six sets of the supersofts, Rosberg will have two medium and five softs whereas Hamilton enters the weekend with just one medium and six soft sets. In a Notebook Special, Ted Kravitz hijacks the F1 Report studio to explain what’s changed Ferrari drivers Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen have selected the same split as Rosberg. The drivers at six teams - Williams, Red Bull, Renault, Toro Rosso, McLaren and newcomers Haas - will each have seven sets of Pirellis quickest tyre, the supersoft, while Manor pair Pascal Wehrlein and Rio Haryanto will just have five apiece.
