Liverpool appears to have its new star attraction. According to BBC Sport, the team has agreed to a 16 million pound transfer with AC Milan to bring Italian striker Mario Balotelli to Anfield. The 24-year-old last played in the Premier League as a member of Manchester City between 2010 and 2013. Balotelli left Milans training ground on Thursday for possibly the last time. "Mario Balotelli left Milanellos sporting centre at 1330 (local time) after saying goodbye to his teammates," Milan said in a statement. "Before going through the gates, he said goodbye to members of Milans press office." Balotelli scored 14 goals in 30 league appearances for Milan last season. He netted 12 times in 13 matches the previous campaign, helping the team to a third-place finish in Serie A. Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has said he is looking to add a striker to his squad before the transfer window shuts on Sept. 1. Balotelli will be tasked with filling some of the void left in star-power and goal-scoring prowess created by the off-season departure of Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez. The 27-year-old Suarez was sold to Barcelona for $130 million this summer after being handed a four-month worldwide ban for biting an opponent during the World Cup.
